Konecranes signs four lift trucks distributor agreements in Asia

Press releases

As a part of the strategy to strengthen Konecranes lift truck’s presence in Asia, four new distributor agreements have been signed. These are expected to make a strong addition to the Konecranes network throughout the region. Each new distributor is an established heavy lifting service provider in important markets in the region: Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and Myanmar.

The signed distributors are Vietnamese-based MIPEC Technologies Equipment Joint Stock Company, Cambodian TIQE Cambodia Equipment CO. LTD, Indonesian PT Berca Mandiri Perkasa, and General Machinery Technology from Myanmar. The four new distributors each come with varied and extensive experience in the supply, service and maintenance of heavy lifting equipment.
Based in Hanoi, Vietnam, MIPEC Technologies JSC is part of the MIPEC Group, one of the 500 largest companies in Vietnam. Konecranes and MIPEC signed the dealership agreement in February 2018, based on MIPEC’s decades of experience with the PPM/Fantuzzi machines, which are now part of the Konecranes lift trucks family. MIPEC’s exposure and experience in local and regional steel, ports and industrial sectors makes this an ideal partnership for Konecranes in Vietnam.

TIQE Cambodia Equipment Co. has many years of experience with the Linde line of container lifting equipment. With the Konecranes 2013 acquisition of selected product rights for Linde’s container handling lift trucks and production, a partnership with TIQE became a natural move in Cambodia. TIQE mainly services customers in the autonomous port, dry port, railway line port and bounded warehouse operation sectors. Established in 2014, Indonesian-based PT Berca Mandiri Perkasa is a part of the well-known PT Berca brand, established in 1971. The company has achieved an excellent reputation for heavy equipment trading and mechanical-electrical contracting, primarily in the Indonesian ports sector. PT Berca is an established dealer for the Terex brand, and since the Konecranes’ acquisition of Terex Corporation’s Material Handling and Port Solutions (MHPS) business in 2017, PT Berca has embraced the opportunity to promote and service the Konecranes lift truck line as well. Konecranes fourth new partnership is established in the fast-growing economy of Myanmar. General Machinery Technology (GMT), established 10 years ago, specializes in servicing heavy lift customers in the ports and inland container depots. The government of Myanmar is dedicated to improving its industrial, trade and transportation infrastructure, and Konecranes partnership with GMT is ideally situated to service these projects. These four new dealership agreements herald ever-greater investment and traction for Konecranes lift trucks business in the Asian market.

Mr Patrik Lundbäck of Konecranes Lift Trucks concludes, “As a company we are incredibly proud of our broad-based manufacturing capabilities in Asia, it is only fitting that our Asia dealership network also grows in order to better leverage that capacity. We look forward to a prosperous future with our new partners in Asia.”
